Learn more about how we can help you find your new home.
On the way to a new home
With these guidelines, your journey to a new home will be smooth, without unnecessary detours or stops. Our customer service is here to assist you throughout your journey.
Journey to a new home
1
Making an application
Fill out and submit the housing application. Including the necessary attachments with your application right away will make the application process easier and faster. Based on your application, we can immediately offer you available apartments.
2
Validity period of the application
The apartment application is valid for three months at a time. The perfect home may not always be available immediately, so the application can also be changed. An existing application can be modified or, if necessary, removed by the link in the confirmation email. We offer you an apartment that matches your preferences as soon as one becomes available.
3
Applicant’s background check
The application process includes checking the applicant’s credit history, population registry information, and recent housing history. Please note that payment defaults or eviction from another landlord may affect the form of the lease agreement or make it difficult to obtain an apartment.
4
Offering an apartment
Once we have found a suitable apartment for you, we will contact you by phone or text message. You can visit the apartment independently after arranging it with the housing secretary. The housing offer will be sent to you via email or postal mail.
5
Responding to the offer
You must respond by the deadline stated in the offer, indicating whether you accept or reject the apartment offer. If you choose not to accept the offered apartment, your application remains active, and we can offer you another apartment that meets your search criteria. If we do not receive any response, we may offer the apartment to the next applicant, and your application will expire.
6
Rental agreement
After we have found a suitable apartment for you, you have accepted the offer, and if necessary, paid the deposit, we can proceed to sign the lease agreement. You can read more about the security deposit here. The lease can be signed online via the Visma Sign service or at our office.
7
Keys to your new home
Please arrange the collection of keys with the housing secretary in advance. You can pick up the keys to your new home either from the Certego Oy office during weekdays from 8 am to 4 pm or from the key vending machine located in the vestibule of our office, which is open daily from 6 am to 9 pm.
8
Register on the Resident Pages
Now that you have a valid rental agreement, you can register on the Resident Pages, our exclusive service channel for residents. You can find information about the services offered on the Resident Pages and instructions for registration here.
9
Arrival inspection form
As a new resident, you need to fill out the arrival inspection form within 14 days of signing the lease agreement. You can easily complete the form on the Resident Pages. If you are unable to use the Resident Pages, you can print out the form and return it filled out to the Lappeenrannan Asuntopalvelu´s office. Find the form here.
Also, remember to check the Mover’s Checklist.
Information and attachments needed for the housing application
You will need the following information to make an application. Please read the instructions carefully and refer to sections 1-3. Attachments should be provided at the latest before signing the lease agreement. Submitting attachments as soon as possible will expedite your housing search.
There are no income limits for the apartments, but an apartment cannot be granted if the applicant has sufficient assets to acquire a similar apartment.
- We recommend adding attachments to the electronic housing application as you make it.
- You can apply for the necessary attachments for the housing application directly through the Attachment service in a data-secure way by using strong identification. The service creates all the necessary attachments for you automatically and delivers them directly to Lappeenranta Asuntopalvelu. The attachments delivered through the service are: income register extract, pre-filled tax return, extract from population register data and extract from study rights. If you want to use the Attachment service, fill your email address in the housing application. In this case, you will receive a link to the service in your email.
- Alternatively, you can add attachments manually from your files. PDF and image files (png and jpg) can be attached. The maximum size of attachments is 2048 kB.
- If you are unable to send attachments via the Attachment service or via the electronic housing application form, you can send them by email to aspainfo@aspakoti.fi or by mail to the Asuntopalvelu´s customer service.
- If you wish to add attachments or edit your application later, include your email address in your application. You will receive an email summary of your application along with a link through which you can later edit your application, add attachments, or renew your application after the deadline.
- If you are changing apartments and are already registered on the Resident Pages, you can use the same credentials to edit your application.

By law, a change of address notification must be made whenever one permanently moves from one residence to another or when temporary residence at another address lasts more than three months. The notification can be made at the earliest one month before moving day, but no later than one week after the move.
Make the change of address notification on the Posti's website
Low-income individuals may be eligible for general housing allowance from Kela (The Social Insurance Institution of Finland).
Make the electricity contract in time. The local electricity company is Lappeenranta Energia Oy and their associate company Väre.
Lappeenrannan Asuntopalvelu's property insurance does not cover damages to personal property.
We recommend that residents take out their own home insurance to protect their personal property in case of damage.
