Use of personal data

The operation of renting apartments by Lappeenrannan Asuntopalvelu Oy (hereafter “Aspakoti”) requires the processing of personal data. The processing of personal data is based on the customer relationship, other relevant connections, or the consent given by the customer. Personal data are used for managing customer relationships, satisfaction surveys and other inquiries, customer communications, maintenance tasks for apartments, and marketing of apartments. Aspakoti pays special attention to the privacy of the customer and the protection of personal data, adhering to good data processing practices.

Personal data are primarily collected from the customer themselves. Additionally, personal data are collected from sources such as the credit information register of Suomen Asiakastieto Oy and the Population Information System of the Population Register Centre. Furthermore, Aspakoti may collect data related to users’ devices on its websites through cookies and similar technologies, such as web analytics (see more at https://www.aspakoti.fi/en/privacy-policy/). As a general rule, collected data are not disclosed outside Aspakoti, except in situations involving a change of apartment ownership and to cooperation parties as per the data protection plan.

According to the Personal Data Act, every person has the right to inspect what data about them has been stored in the register. Inspection requests cannot be made by telephone; they must be written and signed personally. Written inspection requests should be sent to Lappeenrannan Asuntopalvelu Oy, Customer Service, Valtakatu 44, 53100 Lappeenranta. When requesting information, one must provide their name, address, and social security number, and specify whether they wish to inspect data related to a specific matter, all data, or data from a specific period.

The right to prohibit refers to an individual’s right to prevent the controller from using personal data concerning them for direct marketing. A previously given consent for direct marketing can also be withdrawn at any time by notifying via email to aspainfo@aspakoti.fi.
