Use of personal data

The operation of renting apartments by Lappeenrannan Asuntopalvelu Oy (hereafter “Aspakoti”) necessitates the processing of personal data. The processing of personal data is based on the customer relationship, other relevant connections, or consent provided by the customer. Personal data are used, for example, for customer relationship management, customer satisfaction surveys, other inquiries, customer communications, maintenance tasks for apartments, and marketing of apartments. Aspakoti pays special attention to the privacy and protection of personal data, adhering to good data processing practices.

Personal data are primarily collected from the customer. Additionally, personal data are collected from sources such as the credit information register of Suomen Asiakastieto Oy and the Population Register Centre’s population information system. Aspakoti may also collect data concerning users’ devices on its websites through cookies and similar technologies, such as web analytics (see more at https://aspakoti.fi/terms-of-use/). Collected data are not usually disclosed outside Aspakoti, except in situations involving a change of apartment ownership and partners outlined in the data protection plan.

According to the Personal Data Act, every individual has the right to inspect what data about them have been stored in the registry. Inspection requests cannot be made over the phone but must be written and signed personally. Written inspection requests should be sent to Lappeenrannan Asuntopalvelu Oy, Customer Service, Valtakatu 44, 53100 Lappeenranta. When requesting information, one must specify their name, address, and social security number, and whether they want to inspect data related to a specific matter, all data, or data from a specific period.

Customers have the right to demand the correction, deletion, or completion of any personal data in the registry that is incorrect, outdated, incomplete, or unnecessary for the purpose of processing. Correction requests should be directed to Aspakoti, Customer Service, Valtakatu 44, 53100 Lappeenranta.

The right to prohibit refers to an individual’s right to forbid the data controller from using their personal data for direct marketing. Previously given consent for direct marketing can also be withdrawn at any time by notifying Aspakoti via email at aspainfo@aspakoti.fi.
